Bucking Stereotypes, A More Sober Russia Emerges

Russia has long been viewed as one of the world’s heaviest drinking countries. Or it certainly used to be. A recent global study found that alcohol consumption by Russians nearly halved over the past decade — and now sits at levels below western countries like France and Germany.
